The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard and Lacordaire Street.
According to initial details from Montreal police, the woman was crossing the street as the traffic lights were in the process of changing.
After the collision, she became trapped beneath the bus. Emergency responders freed her, and she was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police have questioned the bus driver from the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and the passengers on board.
