Albertans may start scheduling COVID and flu shots
The vaccines have been tailored to defend against the strains expected to circulate this season.
Albertans can now start booking their annual vaccines for fall respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, flu, and RSV, as part of the province's seasonal vaccination campaign.
Appointments can be made through the Alberta vaccine booking system, by calling Health Link at 811, or by contacting pharmacies directly.
COVID-19 and flu vaccines will be available starting on October 15, and both can be administered on the same day. RSV vaccine appointments will begin on October 21.
Dr. Mark Joffe, Alberta's chief medical officer of health, emphasized the importance of getting vaccinated this fall to protect against illnesses common during the colder months.

A new initiative this year provides the Abrysvo vaccine for RSV to seniors in continuing care homes, seniors aged 60 and older in supportive living facilities, and those aged 75 and older in the community, with a limited supply available through the Alberta Outreach Program.
