Canadian dollar weakens, benchmark yield slips
The loonie was trading 0.1% lower at C$1.3513 to the greenback, or 74 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3504 to 1.3523.
The Canadian dollar weakened slightly against the U.S. dollar on Thursday, while yields on Canadian government bonds also declined.
The loonie traded 0.1% lower at C$1.3513 per U.S. dollar, or 74 U.S. cents, fluctuating between 1.3504 and 1.3523 throughout the day.
Yields on Canada's 10-year government bonds fell by 2.2 basis points to 2.973%, while yields on equivalent U.S. government bonds dropped to 3.7326%.
Meanwhile, U.S. crude oil futures for October rose by 66 cents, reaching $69.86 per barrel.
