Celebrities coming to the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival

As the Toronto International Film Festival approaches, excitement is building among both locals and visitors who are eager to spot celebrities in the city.

This year, Toronto will be graced by stars like Cate Blanchett, Bruce Springsteen, and Selena Gomez, who are expected to add a touch of glamour and perhaps pause for a few selfies with their fans.
Angelina Jolie
This year, Angelina Jolie is set to attend TIFF, where she will receive the TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media. This honor is given to individuals who merge social activism with cinema. Jolie will be presented with the award at the festival’s fundraising gala on September 8. Her latest film, Without Blood, a war drama about a woman seeking revenge for her family's deaths, will also premiere at the festival. The film stars Salma Hayek Pinault and is directed by Jolie.

Oscar winner Cate Blanchett will showcase her versatility in the quirky drama-comedy Rumours. In this Canadian film, Blanchett portrays German Chancellor Hilda, who hosts a G7 summit that goes unexpectedly awry. Rumours has been selected as Canada’s official entry for the Oscars' Best International Feature Film category. Blanchett will also receive the TIFF Share Her Journey Groundbreaker Award, recognizing a woman in film who has advanced the careers of others and paved the way for future generations.
Elton John
Elton John is another musician making a splash at TIFF with the world premiere of the documentary Elton John: Never Too Late. The film, featuring candid interviews and newly revealed archival footage, is co-directed by R.J. Cutler and John’s husband, David Furnish. Nicole Kidman will bring some heat to TIFF with the North American premiere of the erotic drama Babygirl. Kidman stars as a high-powered executive who risks everything for a sexual relationship with her intern (Harris Dickinson). The film also stars Antonio Banderas as Kidman’s husband.
