Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Daulton Varsho has earned his first Gold Glove award.
The winners of the 2024 MLB Gold Glove awards were announced on Sunday night, marking Varsho’s first win in his fifth season.
At 28 years old, Varsho led all outfielders with 26 outs above average—16 in center field and 10 in left field—according to Statcast.
He also topped outfielders with a fielding run value of 17, as reported by Statcast.
Varsho's teammate on the Blue Jays, Ernie Clement, was a finalist for a Gold Glove at third base but was outperformed by Alex Bregman of the Houston Astros.

During his tenure with the Blue Jays, Roberto Alomar won five Gold Glove awards, while Tony Fernandez secured four, and Vernon Wells earned three.
In his second season with Toronto, Varsho had a batting line of .214/.293/.407 over 136 games. He recorded 18 home runs, 58 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases.
He ranked second among Blue Jays position players in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) with 5.1, just behind Guerrero, who had a WAR of 6.2.
