Fabre and d'Iberville Metro stations reopen after being closed due to safety reasons

Nearly a week after closing three Blue Line Metro stations due to safety concerns, Montreal's transit authority has announced that two of those stations are ready to reopen.

The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) confirmed that the Fabre and d'Iberville stations would reopen at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. However, the Saint-Michel station will remain closed for an indefinite period.

The stations were initially shut down last Thursday evening when engineering teams discovered significant deterioration in the main beams above the walkway at Saint-Michel station. Due to the proximity of essential track equipment for train turnarounds, the Fabre and d'Iberville stations also had to be closed.

The STM is scheduled to provide further details during a news conference at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
