First Oasis, now Coldplay: New Rogers Stadium lands another act in Toronto

The newly announced Rogers Stadium in north Toronto has secured another significant act for its lineup ahead of its opening next year.

British pop band Coldplay, known for hits like “Yellow” and “Clocks,” will perform on July 7-8, 2025, as part of their “Music of The Spheres” world tour.

With a capacity of 50,000, Rogers Stadium is scheduled to open in June, and currently, the only other act confirmed to perform is Oasis during their reunion tour.

The new venue will be situated on the former Downsview Airport lands, adjacent to Downsview Park. Northcrest is redeveloping the 150-hectare Downsview Airport Lands, which will also feature residential housing.

Live Nation Canada executive Erik Hoffman stated that the stadium will host major artists, provide diverse food and beverage options, and enhance the overall fan experience.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford mentioned that the seasonally operated stadium will significantly benefit the province’s arts, culture, and tourism sectors, noting that Rogers Stadium is expected to attract visitors from around the globe and create thousands of jobs.

Presale registration for Coldplay’s Toronto concerts is available until 10 a.m. Eastern on Thursday, with general ticket sales starting Friday at noon Eastern.

Coldplay will also offer a limited number of tickets priced at $20, set to go on sale in November. Following their Toronto performances, the band will head to American cities like Boston, Nashville, and Miami.

Oasis is scheduled to perform at Rogers Stadium on August 24-25, 2025. The band initially intended to hold a single concert in the city but decided to add a second show due to “phenomenal demand.”

This performance will mark Oasis's first appearance in Toronto since they played at the now-defunct V-Festival in July 2008.
