Found in a Île-Bizard swimming pool, a toddler's health is severe

A two-year-old child is in critical condition after being found unconscious in a swimming pool at a private residence in the Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève borough of Montreal on Tuesday evening.
Montreal police (SPVM) reported that a 911 call was made at around 6 p.m. regarding an accident on des Cageux Street, near Bord-du-Lac Road.
The child was pulled from the pool before emergency responders arrived and was then assisted by firefighters and police at the scene, according to SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
The child was transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
A perimeter was established on des Cageux Street, and investigators were dispatched to examine the scene and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, Brabant added.
