Friday was the largest-ever $75 million Lotto Max draw; future prizes might exceed $80 million
If the $75 million jackpot isn’t won, it will roll over to the $80 million maximum for the draw on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
Ontario’s Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is raising the stakes with a record-setting Lotto Max draw of $75 million this Friday, and future jackpots could reach up to $80 million.
The OLG announced on Wednesday that this Friday's Lotto Max draw will feature "a Canadian lottery first" with the $75 million jackpot and approximately a dozen $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes.
If the $75 million jackpot isn’t won, it will roll over to the $80 million maximum for the draw on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
“With Lotto Max set to increase the main jackpot cap to $80 million, the game will continue to offer large, thrilling jackpots while still providing opportunities to win MAXMILLIONS prizes when the jackpot reaches or exceeds $50 million,” the OLG stated in a press release.
The last six Lotto Max jackpot winners were all from Ontario, collectively winning $360 million.
Tickets for the $75 million Lotto Max draw can be purchased at OLG.ca or through authorized OLG retailers until 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
A ticket purchased in Renfrew, Ont., yielded a $333,333.40 MAXMILLIONS prize for David Forrest of Horton, Ont. Forrest, a school bus driver who has been playing the lottery for many years, was thrilled with his win from the August 13, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
