Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge closed this weekend
The detour routes will be marked with temporary signage.
The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable has announced that the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge will be fully closed this weekend as part of ongoing reconstruction efforts.
The closure is necessary to adjust the lane configurations on Highway 40 near the bridge in preparation for the winter season.
Closure Details:
From: Friday, December 6, at 11:59 p.m.
To: Monday, December 9, at 5 a.m.
Affected Areas:
- Highway 40 Westbound:
- Closed between Exit 41 (Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue/des Anciens-Combattants Blvd./Highway 20 West/Île Perrot) and the entrance from Saint-Charles Avenue.
- Local access to Senneville Road will remain available.
- Highway 40 Eastbound:
- Closed between Exit 35 (Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac/Vaudreuil-Dorion/St-Charles Avenue) and the entrance from des Anciens-Combattants Boulevard.
- The ramp from Highway 40 Eastbound to the Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge in the Highway 30 interchange will also be closed.
Detours:
Temporary signage will guide drivers to alternative routes, with Highways 20 and 30 serving as the main detour options.
Post-Closure Configuration:
When the bridge reopens on Monday, December 9, at 5 a.m., three lanes will be available. Two lanes will be dedicated to traffic heading toward Montreal during the morning rush hour, supported by dynamic traffic management.
