In a Calgary stolen car investigation, a couple is accused of more than 20 crimes

A man and a woman are facing over 20 charges after being arrested in the parking lot of a grocery store east of Calgary.
Throughout September, the Calgary Police Service (CPS) received reports of a man and woman traveling in stolen vehicles and driving dangerously in and around Calgary.
The CPS Auto Theft Team identified the man as a repeat offender, already under surveillance by the Prolific Offender Engagement Team (POET), and believed he was violating a court order that prohibited him from driving.
On Thursday, September 19, police observed the man driving a stolen 2001 Chevrolet Silverado with a woman as a passenger.
The vehicle headed east toward Langdon and stopped at the Langdon Save-On-Foods grocery store.
Officers arrested the man and woman in the parking lot without incident.
A search of the truck uncovered a small amount of drugs, a semi-automatic shotgun, two cans of bear spray, a hatchet, a knife, and over 30 stolen or fraudulent identification documents.
Michael Andrew Zielinski faces numerous charges, including possession of stolen property over $5,000, driving while suspended, dangerous driving, possession of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. The 51-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Brianna Lynne Kadatz, 25, has also been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, breach of recognizance, and 11 outstanding warrants. She is also set to appear in court on Friday.
