Donald Trump has accused Mark Zuckerberg of orchestrating a "plot" against him during the 2020 election, warning the Meta CEO that he could end up in jail if he "does anything illegal this time."

This claim comes from an excerpt of Trump’s forthcoming book, “Save America,” which was reported by Politico on Wednesday.

The book, scheduled for release on September 3, promises to offer a detailed account of Trump’s first term as president and his vision for the country’s future.

However, it also touches on some of Trump’s grievances, including his accusations against Zuckerberg.

Trump criticizes Zuckerberg's over $400 million investment in election infrastructure during the pandemic through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, suggesting that Zuckerberg aimed to interfere in the 2020 presidential election.

In the book, Trump recalls Zuckerberg visiting the Oval Office and describes him as being outwardly polite while allegedly plotting against him.

Trump claims that Zuckerberg "steered" Facebook against him and warned that if Zuckerberg engages in any illegal actions in the 2024 election, he would face prison time.

So far, Zuckerberg has not responded to Trump’s accusations.

The book reportedly includes a photo of Trump and Zuckerberg meeting at the White House, though the timing of the visit is unclear.

Separately, on Monday, Zuckerberg sent a letter to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chair of the House Judiciary Committee, accusing senior Biden administration officials of pressuring his company to censor posts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zuckerberg criticized these actions as "wrong" and expressed regret over temporarily limiting the reach of a New York Post story about Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son.

He also stated that he would refrain from making any election-related investments this cycle to avoid any appearance of bias.

House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee hailed Zuckerberg's letter as a "big win for free speech," while Trump used the letter to send a fundraising email to his supporters, emphasizing the impact of such "interference."

Earlier this summer, Zuckerberg praised Trump’s reaction to an attempted assassination at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, calling it "one of the most badass things" he has ever seen, according to a report by Bloomberg.
