Man, 18, dies after being struck by STM bus on Montreal's St-Denis Street

An 18-year-old man died after being hit by a public transit bus in Montreal's Plateau-Mont Royal borough on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier, the bus from the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) was making a left turn onto St-Denis Street from Rigaud Street when it struck the pedestrian as he was crossing St-Denis on foot.

Police received a 911 call about the incident around 4:30 p.m. Officers attempted CPR when they arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A perimeter has been set up on St-Denis Street between Cherrier and Sherbrooke streets, and the SPVM's collision squad is investigating the incident.
