Man found dead inside vehicle in Brampton, Peel police say
Police were initially called about a 'suspicious vehicle' near St. Tropez Court and Millstone Drive
Peel Regional Police are investigating after a man was found dead inside a vehicle in Brampton early Friday.
Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a driveway in a residential area near St. Tropez Court and Millstone Drive at 12:55 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man inside the vehicle with "obvious signs of trauma," Const. Moulika Sharma informed reporters at the scene. Police believe the man had been shot and succumbed to his injuries.
"We believe this is an isolated incident, and investigators do not consider there to be any ongoing threat to public safety," Sharma stated.
"We understand it's unsettling to hear about such an event happening early in the morning in a residential neighborhood, but we are working diligently to uncover the facts surrounding this incident."
The homicide unit is leading the investigation, and no suspect description has been released at this time.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 9:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. or who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
