Man hospitalised following Burnaby shooting
“One man has been transported to the hospital.”
Mounties in Burnaby are investigating a shooting that sent one person to hospital Tuesday night.
The Burnaby RCMP says officers were called after reports of shots fired in the area of Kitchener Street and Madison Avenue just after 7:45 p.m.
“Police have contained the scene and surrounding area,” Corp. Mike Kalanj told 1130 NewsRadio.
“One man has been transported to the hospital.”
Police say their investigation is in its early stages, “so police expect to be in the area for several hours.”
Mounties did not confirm whether the shooting was or was not related to the ongoing B.C. gang conflict, however, witnesses at the scene shared that members of the Gang Enforcement Unit were also at the scene.
