Meth, cocaine and guns seized in Quebec police raids, 12 arrested
Police say the suspects appeared in a Quebec City courthouse on illegal firearms and drug trafficking charges.
Quebec provincial police (SQ) arrested 12 individuals and seized a significant amount of firearms and drugs during a series of raids conducted this week by the firearms trafficking and organized crime squad.
The SQ reported on Thursday that the Équipe intégrée de lutte au trafic d'armes (EILTA) squad carried out the searches and seized the following items:
- Approximately 4 million methamphetamine tablets
- Around 34 kilograms of crystal meth
- Roughly 18 kilograms of cocaine
- About $190,000 in Canadian currency
- 27 long guns
- 23 handguns
The arrested individuals appeared in a Quebec City courthouse on charges related to illegal firearms and drug trafficking.
The following suspects are scheduled to return to court in November:
- Samantha Sarika-Singh
- François Plamondon
- Vincent Baril
- Marie-Ève Labonté
The following suspects are expected back in court in October:
- Nicolas Gagné-Mercier
- Omar Tissoudal
- Alexandre Ovalle
- Yann-Michael Hervet
- Frédéric Vaillancourt
- Jason-Benoit Ialenti
- Maxime Lajoie-Noreau
- Maude L’Écuyer
Additionally, an arrest warrant has been issued for Eddy-Félix Amador-Rojas.
This operation was part of Quebec’s CENTAURE strategy, which focuses on targeting organized crime and reducing gun violence in the province.
