Minors charged after violent fight leads to 4 stabbings near Montreal high school
The other teen faces similar charges and was remanded into custody. The Crown opposed the accused’s release and they are expected to appear in court for a bail hearing Monday.
Two Teens Charged Following Stabbing Incident Near Montreal School
Two teenagers are facing several charges after four individuals were stabbed last week near a school in Montreal's St-Michel district.
On Monday, the Crown prosecutor overseeing the case confirmed that the two adolescents appeared in court on Friday. According to Montreal police, both of the accused are 15 years old.
One of the teenagers pleaded guilty to multiple charges, which include aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes. Sentencing is set for December 4.
The other teen is facing similar charges and has been remanded into custody. The Crown opposed this teen's release, and a bail hearing is expected to take place on Monday.
These charges stem from a report of a fight in an alleyway near Villeray Street and 10th Avenue last Thursday afternoon.
During the altercation, four individuals aged between 15 and 19 were stabbed. Police reported that three of them were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Among the four injured adolescents, two were also arrested.
The incident occurred near a high school and an adult education center, prompting police to issue a lockdown, which was later lifted.
