Montreal drivers: Avoid Highway 40 West this weekend
Stretch connecting Highway 40 West to Highway 15 will be problematic
This weekend, Highway 40 West will be fully closed from late Friday night until early Monday morning due to paving work.
The closure will affect the stretch between the Laurentian Interchange, which connects to Highway 15, and the on-ramp at Cavendish Boulevard. Drivers traveling west toward this interchange will need to exit the highway and navigate traffic on the service road.
Important closures to note for Friday night are as follows:
- The ramp from Highway 40 West to Highway 15 South will shut down at 11:59 p.m.
- The ramp from Highway 15 North to Highway 40 West will close at 11:30 p.m.
- The entrance to Highway 40 West from Stinson Street will be closed at 11 p.m.
- The ramp from Highway 40 West to Highway 520 West, which leads to Trudeau International Airport, will close at 11:59 p.m.
All affected roads and access points will reopen by 5 a.m. on Monday.
The Transport Ministry advises using Highways 440, 13, 20, and 30 as alternative routes. It also notes that the paving work and associated closures may be delayed if it rains.
