Minor and a 21-year-old man expected to be charged with 1st-degree murder
Montreal police have announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with a double homicide that occurred earlier this summer. Among those arrested is a 15-year-old boy, who is anticipated to face first-degree murder charges in youth court.
In addition to the teenager, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) has also apprehended two men, aged 21 and 18.
The double homicide took place on July 19 at approximately 1:50 a.m. near the intersection of Robert Boulevard and 25th Avenue in the Saint-Michel neighborhood of Montreal. The victims, aged 33 and 34, succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital. Their deaths were the 19th and 20th homicides reported within Montreal police jurisdiction this year.
According to the SPVM, the 21-year-old suspect was arrested at the Bordeaux jail, where he was already in custody for car theft and possession of burglary tools. He is expected to face court charges for first-degree murder by tomorrow.
As of Thursday afternoon, the 18-year-old suspect remains under interrogation by investigators.
