More than 25 mm of rain is predicted in Toronto and the GTA as the week begins with mostly rainy weather
Rainy showers are trickling into the Greater Toronto Area. Meteorologist Denise Andreacchi has your long-range forecast.

Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area will begin the week with periods of heavy rain after enjoying a stretch of pleasant, summer-like weather.

Residents will wake up to rainfall on Monday, which is expected to continue into the afternoon. While the rain may not be heavy, it will still make the start of the week feel like a wash.

The daytime high in Toronto is projected to be 21°C, though it will feel like 24°C due to humidity. Overnight, temperatures are expected to drop to around 15°C.

Rain is set to return overnight on Tuesday and will likely persist throughout the day, becoming heavier in the afternoon and evening. By the end of the rain, Toronto could accumulate between 25 to 30 millimeters. The forecasted high for Tuesday is 19°C.

In southern Ontario, September has been mostly dry. There’s another possibility of rain on Wednesday, but forecasts are uncertain about the amount of precipitation expected. Currently, there’s a 70 percent chance of afternoon and evening showers.

A return to sunshine is anticipated on Thursday, with Toronto expected to reach a high of 22°C and a mix of sun and clouds.

Forecasters believe that the remainder of September will see above-average temperatures across the province. According to the Weather Network, Toronto enjoyed an 11-day stretch without any precipitation this September, surpassing the previous dry spell from February 2 to February 9.
