Mounties investigating Clearwater County body as murder
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has assumed control of the investigation.
Hunters discovered a body in a remote wooded area of Clearwater County on Friday, which Alberta RCMP is now investigating as a homicide.
Working alongside Alberta Fish and Wildlife, authorities identified the deceased as a man who had sustained injuries and had recently died.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has assumed control of the investigation.
RCMP Cpl. Lou Leroux noted that further details are limited at this time, with an autopsy scheduled for early next week.
Clearwater County is an expansive region encompassing Rocky Mountain House and bordered by Banff and Red Deer.
