OPP has two Smiths Falls missing persons files open

The search is ongoing for two missing residents of Smiths Falls, with investigators not ruling out a connection between the two cases, though this has not been confirmed.
Lawrence Bertrim, now 44, was last seen in downtown Smiths Falls on September 30, 2022. Robbie Thomson, now 35, was reported missing on October 19, 2023.
Both the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Smiths Falls Police Service (SFPS) are actively working to uncover the circumstances surrounding their disappearances.
The investigation has involved multiple searches by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, and Aviation Services.
Despite numerous tips from the public, police believe that someone may hold crucial information that could aid in solving the cases.
