Patient stabbed in hospital at CHUM in Montreal
The suspect had been arrested by the police a few hours earlier because he allegedly tried to set his apartment on fire.
A 53-year-old man was stabbed by his hospital roommate in his room at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) overnight.
According to Montreal police (SPVM), the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday, but the motive remains unknown.
The victim suffered injuries to his upper body, and the 35-year-old suspect was quickly subdued by hospital staff before officers arrived. The suspect used a sharp object to attack his roommate.

The victim’s life is not considered to be in danger.
Police are interviewing witnesses, and the room has been sealed off to allow investigators to analyze the scene.
