Police: TTC bus kills man near Ossington Station
Following the collision, the TTC issued an alert notifying commuters that the 63 Ossington bus would bypass Ossington Station.
A man has died in hospital after being struck by a TTC bus near Bloor Street and Ossington Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police reported that the man was rushed to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries but later succumbed to those injuries in hospital.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash but indicated that the man appeared to have been lying on the road when the bus struck him. The investigation remains ongoing.
TTC CEO Greg Percy expressed condolences in a statement shared on X, saying, “On behalf of the TTC, I extend our deepest heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased. Our thoughts are also with the bus operator who was involved.”

Percy also noted the TTC’s cooperation with the ongoing police investigation and emphasized the organization’s commitment to safety: “We will, as always, provide all of our assistance as they work to determine exactly what happened.
We will also take away any learnings we can to make sure the TTC is the safest it can be.”
