‘Repossessed’: Paranormal investigators uncover some of Canada’s creepiest items
“We had to do a lot of it, especially when it’s a location that’s known for having some type of really evil entity inside of it.”
Humans have long been captivated by paranormal activity and ghost stories, but what happens when a so-called "haunted object" begins to wreak havoc on your life?
A new series on History, also available for streaming on StackTV, delves into objects that give their owners more than just an eerie feeling—these items, according to their owners, are cursed and, in some cases, pose serious threats to their well-being.
Repossessed is hosted by Ottawa’s well-known paranormal investigator Moe Sargi, psychic medium Leitreanna Brown, and researcher Marika Simon. In the first season, the team travels across North America, including several locations in Canada, in search of objects believed to be causing strange and unexplained occurrences.
When they encounter an item they suspect to be dangerous—such as a lethal antique bed or a possessed ornate mirror—they work to neutralize the eerie and unsettling effects the objects seem to have on their owners. In the most extreme cases, they even repossess the items and relocate them to a safe place where the team claims they can no longer cause harm.
"There are times when we’re so stressed that we have to group hug each other," Sargi told Global News, referring to the intense environments the team encountered during filming. Using various paranormal investigation tools, psychic communication, and intuition, they worked to uncover how and why each haunted object came to be cursed. “We had to do that a lot, especially in places known for harboring truly evil entities.”
In an interview with Global News, Sargi shared insights about Repossessed, including the creepiest item that didn’t make it onto the show (which he warns is extremely unsettling), the Canadian building high on his investigation bucket list, and his advice for anyone who suspects they have a cursed or haunted object in their possession.
