Saskatchewan Party promises up to $10,000 for first time fertility treatments
Moe told reporters in Regina that he would introduce a 50 per cent refundable tax credit — up to $10,000 — to help cover the cost of a first fertility treatment.
Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe has announced that if his party is re-elected on October 28, it will enhance access to fertility treatments and cancer testing.
During a press conference in Regina, Moe stated that he plans to introduce a 50 percent refundable tax credit, up to $10,000, to assist with the costs of the first fertility treatment. He emphasized that his party aims to make fertility treatments more affordable for individuals in Saskatchewan who need them to start or expand their families.
Moe also mentioned that his party would facilitate cervical cancer screening by allowing women aged 25 to 69 to perform self-screening tests for the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.
Sarah Wright, the Regina-Lakeview candidate and a cancer survivor, noted that Saskatchewan would become the second province in Canada, following British Columbia, to provide self-screening as an alternative to the conventional Pap test.
Later in the day, Carla Beck, leader of the Saskatchewan NDP, was set to make an announcement in Emerald Park after participating in a ride-along with an RCMP officer.
