Service resuming after early morning Montreal Metro shutdown
Electrical failure behind the disruption, says STM
Service on the Montreal Metro system is gradually resuming after a system-wide shutdown Thursday morning.
The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) reported that all four Metro lines were halted due to an electrical equipment failure.
The issue started at 4:03 a.m., according to the transit agency.
While service was initially expected to restart by 6:30 a.m., some lines were back in operation by 6:15 a.m.
