SIU looking into a guy who was shot by Ottawa Police
The man was arrested and taken to hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
The province’s Special Investigation Unit has launched an investigation after an Ottawa Police officer shot and wounded a 33-year-old man in Orleans Friday night.
Shortly after 11 p.m., police were called to the area of St. Joseph Blvd. and Place D’Orleans Dr. where they received complaints of a man with a weapon assaulting people and damaging vehicles.
When police approached the man, an officer shot him multiple times. Two tasers were also deployed.
The man was arrested and taken to hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Four civilians were injured and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing and the SIU is asking anyone who may have information about this investigation, including video or photos to come forward.
