Environment Canada is calling for some strong winds to start off the Thanksgiving long weekend in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
A special weather statement issued on Friday morning says areas around Halifax and much of mainland Nova Scotia will see winds gusting from 70 to 80 km/h through Saturday afternoon.
“It does turn quite windy Saturday afternoon and that will slowly diminish on Saturday night,” said 95.7 NewsRadio weather specialist Allister Aalders. “Some areas might even get closer to 90 km/h along the coast in the southwest.”
Environment Canada says some areas of the province could see wind warnings issued.
