This summer, Premier Legault's popularity rating grew even further
His support dropped significantly from 57% in December 2022 to 31% by the end of 2023.
Premier François Legault’s approval rating has risen to 39% this summer, according to the latest Angus Reid Institute poll.
After hitting a low point in late 2023, his support increased by three percentage points, although it remains lower than six other provincial premiers.
Only Ontario’s Doug Ford and New Brunswick’s Blaine Higgs rank lower in popularity.
The survey, conducted between September 12 and 18, found that 9% of Quebec respondents strongly approved of Legault's work, while 30% moderately approved.
On the other hand, 37% strongly disapproved, and 19% moderately disapproved. The overall rise in his rating is largely due to a three-percentage-point increase in strong approval since June.
Despite the gains, Legault's approval has been in decline since peaking at 77% during the COVID-19 pandemic.
His support dropped significantly from 57% in December 2022 to 31% by the end of 2023. However, since early 2024, his rating has been steadily climbing, reaching 39% in September.
The Angus Reid Institute conducted the poll with a sample of 3,985 Canadian adults, including 641 respondents from Quebec, with a margin of error of 4%.
