Transportation Safety Board to send investigators after small airplane crashed at northern Alberta airport
Two passengers are believed to have been on board. RCMP won’t say anything about injuries or deaths but say that TSB has now taken over the investigation.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is sending a team to investigate an aircraft accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon at an airport in northern Alberta.
According to Peace River and Grimshaw RCMP, a small privately registered plane crashed on the grounds of the Peace River airport at around 4:50 p.m.
It is believed that two passengers were on board at the time. While the RCMP has not provided details regarding injuries or fatalities, they confirmed that the TSB has taken over the investigation.
The RCMP also noted that Transport Canada has been informed about the incident.
In a brief statement, the TSB said it will be gathering information and assessing the situation.
Authorities are coordinating with partner agencies and are asking the public to avoid the area for now.
