Two bodies found in an apartment building in Montreal
"For the moment, we are talking about two suspicious deaths," said officer Antony Dorelas, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Department (SPVM).
Emergency services made a grim discovery at around 9:15 a.m. in a second-floor apartment near the intersection of Sherbrooke Street East.
The victims, a man and a woman, are believed to have died from gunshot wounds, according to available information.
"For now, we are treating this as two suspicious deaths," said Montreal Police Department (SPVM) spokesperson Antony Dorelas.
As the investigation is still in its early stages, authorities have not yet determined whether this was a double homicide, a murder-suicide, or a double suicide.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Montreal police investigators were expected to arrive later in the morning to begin their investigation.
