Two individuals sustained life-threatening injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on the northbound lanes of Highway 400 in King City, Ontario.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, just north of the King City ONRoute.
According to the OPP, a transport truck and a blue Toyota were slowing down in a construction zone when a third vehicle crashed into the back of the Toyota, leading to a collision with the rear of the truck.
The two individuals who were injured were occupants of the Toyota, and charges are pending against the driver of the third vehicle. Investigators suspect that speed and distraction may have contributed to the crash, but no other injuries were reported.
As a result of the accident, the northbound lanes of Highway 400 remain blocked from Teston Road to King City, and OPP officials anticipate that this section will remain closed until approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
