Two people were struck in separate Edmonton incidents
The driver, a 60-year-old woman, was uninjured and charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Edmonton police reported that a 17-year-old girl and a 77-year-old woman were struck in two separate incidents on Thursday morning.
Around 9:35 a.m., the teenager was crossing southbound in the east crosswalk at 103 Street and 107 Avenue when she was hit by an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe.
The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver, a 41-year-old man, was unharmed.
Less than an hour later, police responded to another pedestrian accident. A 77-year-old woman was hit while in a crosswalk at 105 Street and 80 Avenue by a Hyundai Santa Fe making a left turn onto 80 Avenue.
The elderly woman was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 60-year-old woman, was uninjured and charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
Police do not believe speed or alcohol played a role in either collision.
