Two people were rescued from a cube van after a collision in Overbrook yesterday. Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to the incident at the intersection of Donald Street and Marguerite Avenue around 4:35 p.m.

The crash occurred when the cube van hit a tree. Firefighters confirmed that both the driver and the passenger were trapped inside the vehicle.

They stabilized the vehicle and used specialized tools to extricate the occupants by 5 p.m.

The city was called in to inspect and address the uprooted tree, which posed a hazard. The scene was cleared by 5:13 p.m. and then turned over to the Ottawa Police Service (OPS).
