Montreal police are investigating after two parked cars caught fire in the Ville-Marie borough on Sunday evening.

The first incident was reported around 6:15 p.m., when police received a call about a burning vehicle on René Lévesque Boulevard near Saint-Dominique Street.

Firefighters were already on scene and quickly extinguished the flames, with only minor damage reported.

About 30 minutes later, an SUV parked on Sainte-Catherine Street also caught fire. Firefighters promptly controlled the blaze, and damage to the SUV was minimal.

The causes of the fires are still unknown. No incendiary objects were found, and no arrests have been made. Both vehicles have been towed for further examination.
