Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that broke out overnight in Montreal North.
Around 2:10 a.m., police received 911 calls reporting a car engulfed in flames on Cobourg Avenue, near Monselet Street.
When officers arrived, firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SIM) had already brought the fire under control.
Although no incendiary device was found, SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils reported that the car was completely destroyed.
Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, the case has been transferred to the SPVM's arson squad for further investigation.
The vehicle was towed for examination, and no arrests have been made at this time.
