Vaughan carjacking is prevented by a male suspect who is sought by a civilian
The suspect is described as a Black male, around 18 to 19 years old, approximately five feet six inches tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, black track pants, and a blue surgical mask.
York Regional Police (YRP) are looking for a suspect in connection with an attempted armed carjacking that occurred in Vaughan last week.
Officers responded to a call near Major Mackenzie Drive and Weston Road around 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 24.
According to reports, the victim was seated on the passenger side of a vehicle when the suspect allegedly opened the driver’s door, claimed he had a gun, and demanded she leave the car.
A nearby civilian intervened, prompting the suspect to exit the vehicle and flee on foot. The suspect reportedly displayed a firearm before abandoning the carjacking attempt.
No physical injuries were reported.
