Police searching for several suspects after door kicked in Wednesday
York Regional Police are searching for multiple suspects following an armed home invasion in Markham that was captured on security cameras.
According to a news release, the incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Victoria Square Boulevard and Woodbine Avenue. Officers responded after "up to four" individuals forced their way into a residence, demanding money from the occupants at gunpoint.
At the time of the invasion, three adults and a child were inside the home, but fortunately, no one was injured, police reported. It is unclear if anything was taken during the incident.
The suspects fled the scene in a dark red, compact SUV with silver roof racks, police said.
"Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward," the release stated.
Police are asking anyone with surveillance or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to contact them.
