Waterdown bypass delayed by Indigenous consultation dispute
HDI says no more work can go ahead until the city deals with its consultation concerns.
Hamilton's long-delayed Waterdown bypass project has hit another setback, this time due to a dispute over Indigenous consultation with the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.
The $58-million project, intended to divert traffic north around Waterdown's historic village, has experienced intermittent construction since 2016. Political discussions about the bypass trace back to the 1980s.
