Pointe-Claire Emergency Clinic Closes, Patients Directed to Nearby Facility
Statcare Emergency Clinic in Pointe-Claire ceased operations on December 31, but patients are being directed to an alternate walk-in clinic nearby.
The closure follows the granting of creditor protection to the clinic’s owner last month. Concerns were raised by West Islanders about the potential impact on local hospitals, such as the Lakeshore General Hospital, due to increased patient load.
In response, Statcare announced that a dozen physicians have joined Brunswick Medical, located just three kilometers away and part of the same healthcare network.
Patient Care Continues
"We are pleased to confirm that patients who relied on Statcare for their minor urgent needs can now access care at Brunswick Medical Centre," said Jonathan Prunier, a spokesperson for the network. "This allows us to continue delivering the high-quality, timely care our patients expect and deserve."
Another facility within the same network, located in Pierrefonds, has also been undergoing relocation this week.
