Woman dead, another injured after apparent armed robbery south of Quebec City

A tragic incident unfolded Thursday evening in Saint-Anselme, Quebec, located about 40 minutes south of Quebec City, where an armed robbery resulted in one fatality and another person injured.
Initial police reports indicate that around 8 p.m., a suspect attempted to rob a store in the area. During the robbery, shots were fired, leaving a woman in her 30s fatally injured. Another woman, in her 20s, was also struck by gunfire and transported to the hospital. Authorities have confirmed that her injuries are not life-threatening, and she is expected to recover.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large, according to Quebec provincial police. A large-scale police operation is currently underway in the area as investigations continue.
