An 18-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being struck by a Jeep in Edmonton early Sunday morning.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., Edmonton Police Service (EPS) officers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of 107 Avenue and 130 Street.
According to investigators, the young woman was crossing the intersection when she was hit by a Jeep traveling eastbound on 107 Avenue. She succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, a 34-year-old woman, remained at the scene. She has been charged with refusal after an accident causing death and impaired operation causing death.
The EPS is actively investigating the incident and is appealing to the public for any information.
